Okay, I'm just kidding, sort of, kind of - alright already not really! Its raining here today and of course the pooches had to go out and now my house smells like wet dog...UGH!!! What is up with that? I know these dogs are clean, I subjected them to shower torture myself Saturday, so how can they smell like they haven't been bathed in 5 years just from getting a little wet? The humidity is about a billion percent, so it doesn't look like they're drying anytime soon so I guess I'm stuck

southern My daughter takes her dog in to be groomed, and the groomer told them to rub downey fabric softener sheets on his fur when he smells. It works great and he is one of the stinkiest dogs Ive ever seen. LOL.

LOL - I'll have to try that! They only get stinky when it rains, one of them has a bath weekly (cause his fur is so thick) and the other every other week. I just worried that if I did Febreeze them, it would be toxic in some way and make them sick.

I don't have much to contribute to this thread, but the title made me laugh so I had to stop in because of that!

So the next step would be hanging one of those tree air fresheners to it's tail right? LOL

Great idea - it's raining here again today - so I guess it's gonna be stinky in the Southern Belle household for awhile

It actually would be toxic depending on the size of the dog and how much he licked off his fur! People don't realize what is in their everyday products and it is harming us with asthma, allergies, ADD, ADHD, cancer, liver damage...okay so I could go on forever. Seriously though Lysol has DDt and Agent Orange in it so be careful and read all labels! Sorry I sell natural products for a living and it amazed me what I larned when I first started!

My medium dog smells when she is wet or been out in the sunshine and she is a clean indoor dog. My other is a weinr doggy so she don't smell. They have sprays for your pets to make them smell good. They also have wipes too. I have yet to use them but seen them all over.

I used to groom dogs. They make perfume type sprays that you can safely use on your dogs. Check at walmart, a pet store, or your local grooming shop..I'm sure they have some nice smelling, safe stuff you can use.

We had a cat that used to get out and come back in smellin like it spent the night with satans cat...so mom would take him in the bathroom, run some warm water in a pan, get an old rag, and spray some of my old cologne lightly on the water..(one spritz), and wiped him off all over...worked for him..he even smelled nice when he cuddled up with ya...mom has issues with odors so its not like he woulda been welcomed indoors smelling like old cabbage

I haven't actually frebreezed my dog, but I have sprayed over his body in hopes that a little scent might trickle down on him.

I've actually been known to chase my dog around the house spraying Victoria's Secret body spray right over her. Works too
