So I had been training my indoor cat to be an outdoor cat as well for the past couple of months, since she had been obsessed with going outside since the last time she escaped. She became really good at it, and would always stay around the house and meow at the door when she wanted to come back inside. I hadn't seen her since Tuesday night, but I didn't really worry since she basically hates coming back inside, plus her food outside had been eaten. So I get a call today from the our county's animal regulations, and they said she had been broughten in and had been staying their since Tuesday. She didn't have her collar on (it was always coming off since she liked to crawl through bushes, so that's probably what happened), but I guess they were able to find out that she belonged to me from the microchip that was in her. Thank you, chip! Well anyways, we now have to go a half an hour out to get her (who the heck took her in anyway? Our neighborhood has a zillion cats walking around, I don't think to call animal reg to come take them all), and I have to pay the boarding fees of every day for the past 3 days (including today, it's probably going to cost more than what the cat was itself) she has been there, plus a license that I apparently don't have and nobody at the human society told me I had to get when I adopted her...
Gah! Bad kitty.

90 DOLLARS! IT COST $90 TO GET HER OUT.
She only cost $27 to adopt!
The worst part was that they said that someone had called in from our neighborhood. She HAD been in the area, she was just on someone's property and they didn't want her there.
Pick her up and move her then! Sheesh.

Yes, much to her dismay. She stands at the door and meows for about an hour every day. She jumps up and tries to grab the door knob too.

$90.00 - OUCH!!!!! That is insane that they can charge that much to board them. Ugh - I bet you are definantly aggrivated for sure. So much for the outside life, huh kitty?

You know what I was really curious about? The animal regulations shelter was the next two cities over, so in order for them to make it over, 25 minutes, at least, would have had to passed. If my cat was laying in their backyard or driveway or something, she would have definitely moved on by then. When I asked the shelter about it, they said that the people had her confined. They didn't say anything more, but confined? Like in a cage or some other kind of trap? Is that seriously even allowed? Besides, if the whole point was to eliminate her, why would you trap her so that she couldn't leave?
Grr...there went most of last month's SquishyCash money.
