Okay - sitting here wasting time on the web when I turned around and saw this on TV (Screen is on, sound is off) and my first thought is what universe do these people live in??? But then I started thinking...Here in Southern Belle's universe it goes like this.
Cooking - hubby can't boil water w/o burning it ;D Dishwasher - he puts 3 plates in and thinks its full Laundry - he doesn't believe its necessary to separate colors Dusting - he thinks dusting is wiping his had over something Bathrooms - in the 10 years we've been together, he's never done these Vacuuming - I do the downstairs, he does up - that vacuum is heavy. Sweeping/moping - see bathrooms!
But to be fair... Mowing - I don't even know how to turn on the lawn mower Weedeating - Tried it once, ate up the whole string in about 30 seconds Planting - he digs the hole, I plant Weeding - my job after all, I'm the "one who wanted all these (unprintable word) gardens in the first place"
AND, he also works 3 jobs so I can be at home, so I guess it's pretty fair.
What's it like at your house?

I'm at home during this pregnancy. When were both working we split the chores. Right now it goes like this:
Cooking: Me during to week. Him on weekends. Dishwasher: We take turns. We both hate doing the dishes. Laundry: Mostly me so it actually gets folded. Dusting: Me. I sometimes think he thinks it beneath him to dust. Bathrooms: Usually me but now that I'm 30 weeks. His job. I've been waiting on him to clean the Bathroom now for 4 days. Looks like I'm cleaning it anyway. Vacuuming: Me Sweeping/Moping: Me.
Now my hubby works 50 hours a week minimum. So I can't complain too much.

Old post I know, but im really bored today and found this quite interesting! You see the trick is to marry a man that is lets say about 5 years younger than you (my husband) and you train him before he is set in his manly ways! LMBO
That worked really well for me!
Now I got two boys in the home who I don't want to grow up and think that their wife is suposed to be barefoot and pregnant, so I have one day set aside of the week, (Fridays) and we have what I call a GI party. Military Term for cleaning party. We all go from room to room together and knock everything out.
Yard work...I do it! lol My husband is not very handy! lol But he's a very hard worker and a wonderful man!
I was a Homemaker for about 3 years, and I yes I felt like the daily upkeep of the home was my responsibility because I was home all day...but I still had those weekly GI parties.

My huisband only has one job but I have to nag and nag to get him to mow or wash cars or even take out the garbage. My two boys are now acting just like him! OMG! I will let the garbage fall on the floor and yell at him just so he has to take it out.

That's funny cause my husband is 8 and a half years older than me, and he is AWESOME about doing chores. I can honestly say that we are about equal in our house. Except...he cooks dinner every night of the week...and he takes out the garbage (he has to walk it to the garbage bin down the street)...and he does a TON of stuff. Plus he's "mr fix it" and can fix our cars and our house and anything else! And he's the best dad ever okay okay, i'll shut up. I'm really lucky

I'm pretty lucky to have my husband. He cooks usually. My mother never instilled those skills in me. I grew up on fast food mostly.- lol Cleaning chores are usually divided with me being the primary on laundry. He may help fold clothes but I almost wish he didn't! I don't know who taught him how to fold! dusting is our downfall. We both hate it and so we will wait and wait until one of us caves- lol Yard work is all him unless we plant something. But we are moving now and will not have any yard work. He has handy man skills. So all the basic stuff can get done. He also can build stuff. He has built me a bookcase and other things.

I will say since getting the extended one that we do get after them cobwebs more. I think our biggest thing is we hate doing the shelf that has all his Eagle and my wolf collectibles. Sometimes we dust everything but that- lol

Lets see...
I have a 17yr old daughter, 13 yr old son, and 6 month baby boy, 2 dogs(1 is a baby), 2 cats, a hedgehog, and a 37 yr old kid lol.
I do not touch the oldeest kid's rooms. I clean baby room. Garbage my son does when I tell him to.
I hate unloading the dishwasher so I usually have one of the kids do it. I then load it and clean kitchen.
bathrooms, I refuse to clean the tubs! HURTS MY BACK I have to do everythin else in the bathrooms or everyone else will leave them until we can grow something in them.
Vaccuming I do and don't mind it. We have a bagless and I like to see the accomplishments of all the dam animal air it sucks up everyday lol.
Dusting nobody seems to like here. So when I start sneezing it's time to dust lol. I also use the swifer things. Mowing the lawn I DO NOT do anymore. Hubby or son do that. Hubby and I share responsibilities of the flower beds and watering.
We each wash our own vehicles.
Cooking - hubby and I share but usually me. My son likes to help from time to time.
Laundry - UGH I dont mind washing it but I hate folding it so it sits in the pack n play for a few days until it gets so high I HAVE to fold it.
Sweeping/moping - shared chore
Hubby works hard for KCPL and I stay home and take care of all the pets and our baby. And I don't care who you are...that alone is a F/T job.

Okay..here I go I don't work because of my back problems and so house work I just do it as I can. I have 5 cats so a clean house only lasts about an hour..lol He's cleaned the cat boxes all of 3 times since we've had cats which is 3 years. Rob and I split the cooking...whenever one of us feels like being creative in the kitchen we just go for it. Rob usually does the dishes because he says I waste too much water We're trying to be as eco friendly as possible.
