Ways to get the most out of GPT sites

I'm pretty much like you. I just hope to make enough to meet the cashout on the couple GPTs I do. I have referrals...but not a single one is active. I do my best to hit the bonus contests I can earn in here on SC. Like get an offer approved, get $1.00 or the extra percentage ones. But I'm pretty much resolved to the point that my "big" money making days on GPTs are over. The offers just aren't out there for me to do.

About the trials:

I know that the best thing to do is only do trials you're genuinly interested in. For me, the only types of trials I've come across that I've really been interested in have been the book clubs and the music download sites. I've looked through a couple of the book club sites, and at first glance, their "5 books for a dollar!" deal sounds incredibly appealing. But then I realize that
a) They don't have many books in their catalog I'd be interesting in reading.
b) After the initial sign up, you have to buy books from them in the future. So, even if I can come up with a list of 5 books I want intially, whether or not I can find books I'd want from them in the furture is questionable.
c) I'm not sure about all of them, but book of the month at least charges a processing/shipping fee on top of the cost of the books....I forget how much exactly, but somewhere between $13 and $14. So if you're getting $4 from the GPT site, you're actually loosing money.

And as far as the music sites? My current computer is a piece of crap. Actually, one of the reasons I started doing GPT sites was to save up enough money for a new one. I really don't want to go through a lot of downloading music on this computer because it's not worth it and have been holding off until I get a new one. It's kind of a double edged sword: I could potentially earn a lot more money for a new computer by doing these trials, but I really can't do them until I get the new computer.

As far as the surveys go, I did my first one a couple of days ago. (still hasn't credited) But it took FOREVER for me to qualify for one, but I eventually did. Hopefully it will payoff. Just keep trying.
