I hope you get to feeling better. I use my boyfriend's remedy although it can be addictive too. LOL He makes homemade cough syrup for personal use. Vodka with hard candy melted in it. It does sooth the throat and you don't cough as much plus it makes me sleep. If the body is asleep its healing itself. Thank goodness I dont get a cold that often , lol. Wow! I've never heard of homemade cough syrup. Is he using peppermint candy. Was this a home remedy that was passed down in his family?

I still can't breathe.
I always thought the steam thing was what you were supposed to do. But a few months ago, I was more congested than I even thought was possible. I couldn't even eat because I couldn't swallow! I was that congested. Anyway, I was telling my dad (who's a nurse) how the steam thing wasn't working and he said it's because humidity makes it worse.
That's why people use DE-humidifiers in their rooms at night.
Either way...the de-humidifier didn't work either. I ended up having to go to the doctor who prescribed me Naso-cort nose spray and I was CURED after one squirt.

I know diggin out the Vicks is a pain and quite messy, but the best thing you can do is put it on your chest with a sweatshirt on, and rub it into your feet, and put socks on. You have alot of pressure points in your feet Never fails

I don't use any type of prescription/over the counter medicine. I use natural stuff, I used to have an asthma and I can understand how that feels. This is a good recipe that you can make to make:
1/2 Lemon 1/2 Orange 1/2 Grapefruit 1/4 Medium Onion 3 Garlic Cloves Pinch of Cayenne Pepper
Chop Ingredients, add little water and blend together to make a paste consistency. Store in a tight container and refrigerate. Take 1 Tbsp. or as desired every hour or every 3 hours. And drink lots of water. I know this may not taste good but it's very effective and will really boost your immune system quick plus it's all natural.

I think I might try that...I was thinking the other day that it's been forever since I had a cold and I woke up this morning with a really sore throat and stuffy nose Thanks for the tip Eds2ko!

I'm better now. Still a little bit of a runny nose, but at least I can breathe now. Just in time for work tomorrow! Nothing is worse than having to photograph babies in stifling hot rooms when you can't breathe.
