Ok, so I just got contact lenses today! And, I'm loving them. I struggled a little bit putting them in my eye, does anyone else here use contacts and if so, any tricks that help you put them in? I figure the more I do it, the more comfortable I will be with touching my eyes! We'll see

Ugh, see I want contacts but I rub my eyes due to allergies, and I'm just afraid of them. lol I think I'd miss my glasses too much.

I've had contacts for the past 11 years, and they make such a difference. Even when wearing my glasses, things aren't quite as sharp as they are when my lenses are in. As for tips, I can't provide any. It'll become second nature soon enough, though.

I will never wear contacts again .... I wore them for my first probably 3-4 weeks and well lets just say i went to sleep with them in my eyes and thought I was blind when I woke up cause they shattered like and I couldn't see crap but lines when I awoke so I haven't worn them since!! The Dr. told me that it only happens on very rare occasions I told him great just MY LUCK

Yeah, they told me it's very bad to sleep with them still in. My sisters both wear contacts and they both have accidentally done it a time or two and woke up a little in pain.

I finally broke down in 2003 and had Lasik done. It took me 6 hours to put my contact lenses in and out 3 times like they used to make you do before they would let you wear them...okay so that was back in like 1985 or so but still! LOL!

I gave up on them after one slid sideways while I was driving down the road.

I miss my contacts! I have no tips though. You just get used to it. I had to stop wearing them because my eyes kept getting dry and irritated. But I would like to try some new one now that claim they stay ultra moisturized. But I have a bad astigmatism and so it gets costly. Right now I just can't. I would love to get Lasik done.

Contacts make your vision much sharper then glasses. You just have to get used of them and them popping them in will be as easy as 123(unless your eyes are just really sensitive to them, then you can't help that). I do recommend usings a good contact solution such as ClearCare(read instructions very good). I can't stress enough how important it is to keep your contacts clean. I have had eye infections and was told that the solutions I was using wern't good enough. Make sure you use a new contact case when you start a new bottle of solutions to prevent bacteria. Have fun and enjoy your contacts!!!

Yeah, they told me it's very bad to sleep with them still in. My sisters both wear contacts and they both have accidentally done it a time or two and woke up a little in pain. Mine used to just be really dry if I fell asleep in them. I have the O2 Optix lenses now, which are breathable so you can sleep in them if you want. I have taken a nap here and there while wearing them, but they still tend to be a little dry when I wake up (although not as dry as the regular lenses used to be). About two years or so ago, even the slightest amount of light hurt my eyes and they'd also tear up often. After a month or two of this, I finally went and had an exam done again and they said it was corneal oxygen deficiency from wearing the lenses, thus why I wear the breathable lenses now

I have had contacts since I was 12. (38 now). I have no tips for you though. Just know it gets easier after a while. Its a little strange sticking something in your eye at first.

I've worn glasses since I was 18 months old haha.
My mom always wanted me to get contacts, but I never wanted them. Finally, when I was about 18, I agreed to go to the eye doctor and look into it. But when he tried to put them in, my eye involuntarily squeezed shut. He said it's some sort of psychological thing that's fairly common.
The same thing happens with eyedrops. I just can't have stuff being put in my eye.

That's an awful story alissa! And, I have to say you guys kind of freaked me out, more than helped me out! But, it's ok, I still love you all!
And, I'm sure you're all dying to know how I'm doing with them..right?! Well, I'm totally mastering it! I got both of them in today in less than 2 minutes, woo hoo! And, yes, my vision is SO much better with contacts, than when I wear my glasses. It's like night and day!
