I was wondering how a digital camera is able to show a 2012/29/2 (I think the way I shared a date for a digital camera is how it is shown on a digital camera pictures info right from the digital camera) date when a picture is taken, how the date on computers are able to show a February 29, 2012, etc date when most years there is no Feb 29.

They have leap years because it takes 365 1/4 days for earth to do a complete rotation around the sun. So every 4 years they decided that those days would add up and make a whole other day because after a long time it would start changing our days in some way. I'm not sure why they chose february, maybe because it was the shortest month and was easier to remember.

To the member I am quoting how do you know it takes 365.25 days for earth to do a complete rotation around the sun. I was wondering if any member who reads this post knows why it takes earth an extra .25 of a day each year to do a complete rotation around the sun. I was wondering if any member who reads this post knows if .25 of a day is 6 hours and if I am right on this than why does each year have an extra 6 hours and why don't people say a year is 365.25 days. It probably has to do with the calender year. To the member I am quoting what has to do with the calander year.

why february was chosen as leap year. To the member I am quoting what does what you said in the quote I am quoting from you have to do with the calendar year. To the member I am quoting what do you mean by February was chosen as leap year. What I am asking is how can a month be chosen as leap year instead of when leap year happens it happens on February 29.
