Since we've talked about getting Active referrals here soooo much, I just created a blog on how I get active referrals - click on my signature line & go to the blog section.
Hope this helps!!!

I haven't looked at the site yet, but I will.
I am HORRIBLE at getting referrals. I don't know how. I've talked about Squishy Cash to everyone I know and they all seem to think it's "too much work" (and yet these are the same people who complain about not being able to pay their bills every month.) It's frustrating. And then when I DO get someone I know to join, I have to NAG and NAG to even get them to verify their e-mail. One person I referred has made me $6 (since december) and one has made me 94 cents (and I only knew her through another GPT). Those are my top earners! (as far as people I know)
I just don't get how people get referrals
I have a Wynn account and have gotten maybe 20 referrals from that, but most have them have never earned anything and I don't think any of them have even gotten to $1.

alissatucci maybe your overdoing it. I talk to people about it only when they ask me or just find ways that won't be too obvious that you want them to signed up under you. Be enthusiastic when talking about it but don't overdo it

I'm surprised you've had trouble getting referrals, especially since you've personally made a decent amount of money. You'd think you could just tell your friends how profitable it's been for you (so they'd know it's worth their time!).

I've been burning to ask this, and I've been debating about where to ask it, and I guess this seemed like the best place.
SB - Thank you so much for writing that blog entry and sharing it with us here. The gist of the entry, form what I understand, is that in your opinion, the best way to get active referrals is to create a blog for GPT sites, include a lot of tips/tricks, and then post a link to that site everyplace you can. I was just wondering if anyone could provide some insight as to whether that's really the most effective way to get referrals. I mean, there are A LOT of GPT blogs out there, so I'd imagine that in order for your GPT blog to be really effective, there'd have to be something really special or unique about it in order to draw visitors. Otherwise, why should someone looking to make money online read your blog and use your referral links over anyone else's? I mean, I have a GPT blog of my own, I even wrote an entry about how amazing squishycash is. I still only have one referral who's really made me any money to speak of, and I'm 99% sure that person came from my Wynn upgrade.
I really do appreciate your blog, and I'm not trying to be rude here, I'm just sort of thinking out loud.

I get most of my referrals from my blogs on my website. I talk to ppl and give them tips and whatnot then I direct them to my website.

It is difficult to get referrals, and since almost everyone out there has a blog, it can be difficult to make yours different or helpful. The one thing I've done is try to give exact tips on how to complete offers - everyone seems to have the "getting started tips", but I'll do exact step by step for a particular type of offer. I've worked with several admins at different sites, and on their forums, I'll post a "preview" of the latest blog entry with instructions on where to go to read. A few admins have even sent out the link to my site in a mass mail out when their users are having difficulty getting offers approved. I also have a place on my website where you can sign up for my mailing list & when there is a contest or something going on, I'll send out a mass e-mail saying something like "Don't forget - today at Squishy Cash is earn a buck, win a buck" and include my link in the e-mail. Is it effective? Well, on SC I have 34 referrals (opps - make that 35 referrals), on Fire House Offers I have 67 referrals and on Freebies Junction, I have 32 referrals - and that's just on level 1. Most months I make cash out with referral earnings alone, so all the money I make doing offers is gravy. I also belong to several other money making sites (like those listed in my blog), and I'll post there periodically - I've gotten some of my best referrals from yuwie and myLot, so its working for me. I guess the biggest thing is get out there - be active on the forums, be active in helping newbies. Try to keep the same name on all forums so you get to be well known. Send messages to your downline about which offers are approving, answer private messages, lend a hand when someone is having difficulty. Good luck to you! I probably spend as much time "marketing" as I do working sites, but that is what pays off in the long run - after all - new offers are not easy to come by anymore and once you've done them....well, the only way to continue earning is through your network. I average about 40 hits a day on my website - sometimes more on Fridays and Saturdays. Out of those, I'll usually have a few sign ups each day. My only problem is when I get too busy with "real life" and don't have time to market - I can always tell the difference - LOL!

On a random side note, SB - I joined both myLot and Yuwie, and I see that they supposedly pay you to post stuff. Have they successfully paid you?

MyLot has, but I work on the site more for marketing than for $$$ - they only pay a few pennies per post, so it would take FOREVER to make any real money there - LOL! The groups they have for making money on line, or internet earning, etc. are great sources for referrals though. Yuwie - argh! They only make about $0.30 to $0.40 per ad, and they divide it up amongst their members, so you'll literally earn something like $0.05 to $0.10 per month there - and that's with referrals - although I only have level one referrals. I've heard a lot of people that have an entire downline of 10 levels that make really good money there though. It's also a good networking site though, you just have to join the groups. I have a RSS feed for my blogs on my profile page, so I get a lot of lookie-loos that bounce to my website from there, and they will occasionally sign up for another site under me, so....... Another good site is APSense - they pay for page views, I make about five cents a day there, and I have been paid by them - not a lot, but it all ads up!
