As much as I love the Gulf coast., there is just no way I could live there.

i was in florida for Wilma which was my 1st hurricane and i was so scared! never heard anything like how the wind sounds before in my life!! i'm originally from ny so im not used to the extreme weather but i agree with vsblonde- i couldn't live down here or on the gulf coast forever. i'll take snow anyday!!

I too am from NY I like how the wind whistles durring tropical storms. (Certainly not many huricanes) I have always loved the rain, but I pray for the people who buy an expensive water front house get hit bad in the storms, but this is what they say when you pick where you live "Location, location, location."

I wonder how long it will be before people can return to their homes?

Yes If I was going to evacuate my home becaause of a storm, I would want to be back as soon as possible to see the damage, or at least get new when it is saft when I can go back.

I'v been fortunate enough to have never been close to anything like that. I really hate it for those people, so sad. I just hope it is over soon!

Yeah, I don't quite understand that. I'd be wayyyy to scared to stay! Although I'm sure ut would be hard to leave your home and all your belongings, not knowing what may happen.
