September 16, 1920 ~ At 12:01 P.M. the financial district of New York City was rocked by a detonated bomb that was transported by a horse drawn carriage. Known in history as The Wall Street Bombing, 38 persons were killed and 400 injured in the blast. Although still a mystery, to this day it is suspected to have been a terrorist attack.

16th September 1974 : President Ford has announced an amnesty program for Vietnam War deserters and draft evaders, just in Canada during the Vietnam war there were between 30,000–90,000 Americans seeking asylum from fighting in the war.

Sept 16, 1908 General Motors is founded by William C. Durant.
After making the Buick Motor Company America's top-selling car company, Flint millionaire William C. Durant filed articles of incorporation in New Jersey creating the General Motors Company. The event went unnoticed by the media, but in the next sixteen months, Durant acquired an assortment of different companies. Eventually, he succeeded in making General Motors the nation's leading automobile producer.
