Can anybody recommend another similar FREE phone service?

Here's a site.. I used it but it did not have my area code.. might have it for yours. I have others too, they're also some listed on my website >> here<<: Just scroll down a bit to the how to get started page.

I've been using grandcentral.com. Right now it's free. It's a little weird at first but I like it. You have to reserve a number for yourself and when they have one they will email you. I was lucky enough to get a local number that was close to my private number.
The deal is that they assign you a number. This number then will be linked to an existing number you have already. For example, you sign up with an offer with the gc number and your home phone will ring. However they have a feature where you can put your gc number on do not disturb which then sends them all to your gc voicemail! I love that! Be sure to set up a personal voicemail message otherwise it will indicate that you are a grand central member.

However they have a feature where you can put your gc number on do not disturb which then sends them all to your gc voicemail! I love that! Be sure to set up a personal voicemail message otherwise it will indicate that you are a grand central member. Thanks for explaining about how gc works. When you got a gc number did you have to give them your home number and if so did anyone who works for gc ever call you. I see the gc site shows a person the following. To send all your callers to voicemail temporarily, just follow these steps: How come it says temporarily, but than it says All of your calls will go to voicemail until you deselect that box. To me temporary means you can't send all calls to voicemail for as long as a member has a number with gc, but than it sounds as though one can get all the calls to their voicemail as long as they have a gc number. Have you ever gotten any calls on your home phone when you set your account up so all calls go to the voicemail when giving out the gc number? I would hate to give out a gc number if I can get one and find out that people who I give the gc number to will end up reaching the home number. Someone told me this and I wanted to know if this is true. There is a contradiction in the writing. One place says do not disturb will send calls to voicemail temporarily, another place says it's until you choose to "deselect" that option (turn it off). Don't know what to believe there. How long have you been using gc and how long have you had it set to do not disturb? Someone said probably you can leave it permanently on 'do not disturb.' Is this true they call it, and it can be sent directly to voicemail without ringing anywhere, except for the very first time it is used. Did your home phone number ring when you set up your gc account? If so why did your home phone ring to set up the gc account. Did you have to get an activation code and that is why the home phone rang? I hope I don't lose my Squishy Cash account for sharing this.
