I was wondering if anyone who reads this post has ever had the problem below that I have had with some programs on a computer I use.
The problem I have been having with two programs on a computer I use is sometimes when I click on a link in IE it ends up opening FF. This only happens with some links I click on in IE and not all links I click on in IE. Sometimes QuickTime also opens up when nothing is being used that requires QuckTime to be used. The problem I mentioned having in this paragraph of this post seems to have only happened to me since I put Quick Launce on the taskbar of the computer I use.
If anyone does say they have had the problem I mentioned having in the previous paragraph of this post than do you know how I can make IE the default browser that will use IE to open links I click on in IE. I was wondering if anyone know why QuickTime sometimes opens when I am not using anything that requires QuickTime to be used with it?

That IE setting to make IE the default browser should be in "Programs" tab of "Internet Options."
Try uninstalling and re-installing Quicktime.

To the member I am quoting thank you for taking the time to tell me how to make IE the default browser. To the member I am quoting why did you say the following to what I asked about QuickTime in the post I posted in this thread on Aug 9, 2011. Why do you feel doing the following thing you said will or could help with what I posted in this thread on Aug 9, 2011?-Try uninstalling and re-installing Quicktime I was wondering if anyone who reads this post knows if QuickTime is needed on a computer or could I just uninstall it and not re-install it. If QuickTime is needed on a computer than why is that.

Completely uninstalling a program and reinstalling may sometimes fix problems a user may be having.

I was wondering if anyone who reads this post has ever had the problem below when clicking on a desktop icon and or tab on a computer taskbar.
I asked what I asked in the previous paragraph of this post because there is one icon on a computer that I am currently using that had stopped letting me click on it to open what the icon is for in the past 2 or 3 months. This doesn't happen to me all the time, but just once in a while. I did make a new desktop shortcut for the icon I am referring to 2 or 3 weeks ago and so far this icon is working ok for me. I don't feel sharing the name of the program the icon goes to that I am referring to in this paragraph of this post will make a difference in the answer I am given in this thread to what I asked in the previous paragraph of this post. I was wondering if anyone knows why what I mentioned in this paragraph of this post happens.
I have had a problem with clicking on more than one IE tab on a Windows computer taskbar for the past couple years when the IE tabs are minimized. This doesn't happen everytime I minamize a IE tab, but when it does happen sometimes the IE tab never opens up again. I was wondering if anyone knows why what I mentioned in this paragraph of this post happens.
I was wondering if anyone has ever had to click on a icon on a desktop more than 3 times before the program that icon goes to will open. If anyone had ever had this happen to them than why does this happen.
I was wondering if any one has ever had to click on a browser tab on a computer taskbar more than once to maximize that browser tab. If anyone has ever had this happen to them than why does this happen.

I experienced what you just described. To the member I am quoting when you said what you said in the quote I am quoting from you are you saying that you have experienced the icon problem, tab problem, having to click on a icon on a desktop and taskbar more than once that I mentioned having in the post I posted in this thread on Aug 11, 2011 or are you saying you have experienced only one of the four things I mentioned having happen to me in the post I posted in this thread on Aug 11, 2011. To the membe I am quoting I was wondering if you know if there is anything I could do to help make any of the four things I mentioned having happen to me on a computer from not happening in the future. If you don't know of anything to help me with what I am asking in this paragraph of this post than that is ok.

I've experienced all of them and I usually find that only happens to me when I move the mouse cursor while clicking them.

To the member I am quoting how can what I asked you in the post I posted in this thread on Aug 12, 2011 happen to you when you move the mouse cursor when clicking the things I asked you in the post I posted in this thread on Aug 12, 2011. What I am asking is how can a mouse cursor be moved when clicking on the things I asked you in the post I posted in this thread on Aug 12, 2011. When you click on the things I asked you in the post I posted in this thread on Aug 12, 2011 than do you move the mouse cursor while what you clicked on is trying to open and or maxamize or do you do something else when you said what you said in the quote I am quoting from you.

Moving it while the button is clicked won't let me do what I want.

I was wondering if anyone knows how the following below works on a computer.
When a program such as IE and or another browser program , a anti virus program and or spyware program, the recycle bin, etc is clicked on to open one of these programs on a computer how is the program able to be opened? If there is something on a computer that lets a program on a computer be opened than what is on a computer to let a program be opened after icon or word(s) from the Start menu and or All Programs is clicked on .

The clicks send a command to the OS to write instructions for the program to read those instructions which then executes its own code to obey the original command.

I was wondering if any member who reads this post has ever had to do something to unfreeze a computer. If any member does say they have had to do something to unfreeze a computer than did you do what it says in 2 in the following link below which is Press and hold the "Ctrl", "Alt" and "Del" buttons in that order. How to Unfreeze a Laptop ComputerIf any member does say they have had to do something to unfreeze a computer and you didn't do what it says in 2 in the above link than what did you do instead to unfreeze a computer. If any member does say they have had to do something to unfreeze a computer than did you do this on a desktop and or laptop computer. If any member does say they have done what it says in 2 in the above link than did the rest of what it says in 2 in the above link show up after you did what it says in 2 in the above link. I asked the above things because one day in the past week the desktop (I think desktop is the name of the place on a computer that shows up when it's turned on and you see icons, a taskbar with the Start button, time, date, etc) on the desktop computer I currently use froze up on me and I couldn't even use the computer mouse. I also asked what I asked above because when I did what it says in 2 in the above link none of the things mentioned in 2 in the above link after where it says Press and hold the "Ctrl", "Alt" and "Del" buttons in that order showed anything for me to click on. I did however shut down the computer with the power button and than restarted the computer with the power button after I did what it says in 2 in the above link after I Pressed and held the "Ctrl", "Alt" and "Del" buttons in that order for about a minute. When the computer turned back on the computer was unfrozen. If any member does say they have done the Press and hold the "Ctrl", "Alt" and "Del" buttons in that order to unfreeze computer than why does this work to unfreeze a computer.

When a computer freezes I either wait for the source to respond or hit the power/reset button.
